Puerto Princesa Airport – Getting There & Away Cheaply
Note: This post is copied from my other blog Project DIY Travel
I would say there are 2 ways of getting away from PPC Airport cheaply.
- Take a tricycle inside the airport – I think the cheapest would be P50 to city proper or to your lodging. And take a tricycle outside the airport – I think the regular fare would apply which is P8. When there was no flight I was passing by the airport and I paid just the minimum fare. But when the tricycle knows there is a flight, the fare becomes “special”. To minimize overpriced airport tricycle experience, take a tricycle up to the Capitol only. If you took a tricycle outside the airport, fare should be P8 or minimum. Then from Capitol there are multicab plying different routes going in and out of city proper. Take the multicab. Multicab minimum fare is P8.
- You may get a free airport transfer from your lodging. Some offer free roundtrip airport transfer, some only one-way free airport transfer. Anyway for sure you will take lodging at the city, might as well choose the lodging with free (roundtrip or one-way) airport transfer.
Remember I mentioned about going to the Capitol coming from the airport. This spot would be the best drop-off point if you will be going to San Jose Terminal.
Here’s the outline of that route:
Airport – (tricycle, P8-50) – Capitol – (multicab, P10-12) – San Jose Terminal
Airport – (tricycle, P8-50) – Capitol – (multicab, P8) – PP City Proper
PP City Proper – (tricycle, P50) – Airport
